End of Dutch Delegation activities and Farwell ceremony

The Dutch delegation that took part in an international summer camp, organized by Nablus Municipality in cooperation with the Middle East Human Supporters Foundation (Hajir) and a group of young people of the "We are the future" project, left Nablus yesterday after having concluded a clean-up campaign in the city.

 

The Dutch delegation took part in a number of different activities and campaigns, which the Public Relations Department had organized in cooperation with other Municipality departments. The delegation helped to clean part of the Jamal Abd al-Nasser Park, the Nablus Park, and the Child Happiness Centre, and planted trees. They furthermore participated in the activities and festivities of the Nablus Shopping Festival, which coincided with their visit. At An-Najah National University, the members of the delegation toured different facilities before visiting an exhibition about the Samaritans and an exhibition of the Umayyad mosaics of the Dome of the Rock in the trading centre of Nablus Municipality.

Public Relations staff accompanied the Dutch delegation on a tour of the Old Town, visiting some archaeological sites such as soap factories, Turkish baths, Jacob's Well, and the historic town of Sebastiya.

In the Child Happiness Centre, the Dutch delegation gave a group of children a number of drama performances and took part in some activities and special children's games. This was followed by a football match between the Dutch guests a team of the "We are the future" project.

At the end of the programme, the guests were entertained at the Family Park in the city. In their speeches, all participants expressed the importance of learning from each other and of mutual experiences of the two sides. Finally, the Municipality presented the delegation with gifts and souvenirs.
